Important Information Regarding Flight Tours

  • In flight tours, all operations related to flights are subject to the provisions of the airline contract.
  • Cancellation insurance does not cover air travel.
  • A tiered pricing system is applied; advertised prices start from the lowest class.
  • Economy class flights are used in flight tour programs.
  • Air tickets are issued as round-trip together. If the outbound flight is not used, the return flight also becomes invalid due to the airlines' "sequential use" rule. Therefore, participation in only the return flight is not possible.

Museum – Archaeological Site – National Park Entries

All museum, archaeological site, and national park entry fees are the responsibility of the guests. Guests can obtain a card from Müzekart sales points before or during the tour to take advantage at museums and archaeological sites where Müzekart is valid.

Rest Stops

Rest stops are provided at rest facilities along the route. Due to congestion, renovation, or other compelling reasons, changes may be made to rest stop locations, provided they are equivalent in terms of service quality and location.

Extra Tours and Program Flow

Night tours and extra excursions included in the tour program are organized depending on the number of participants and the availability of staff. Extra tours conducted along the route may take place even if not all guests participate. Guests who do not wish to join an extra tour will be directed by our guide to rest areas before city entrances or to city centers. In this case, guests who agree to wait at the rest area are considered to have participated in the tour.

Due to weather conditions, road status, or similar reasons; if the guide deems it necessary, changes can be made to the program sequence (visits within the day or between days).

Go-Turkey cannot be held responsible for points that are part of the program but cannot be visited due to compelling reasons (weather conditions, road status, congestion at visit points, etc.) or because guests fail to adhere to the timing given by the guide.

Health Declaration

Guests must carry reports and information regarding any health issues they may experience during the tour, pregnancy status, or medications they continuously use.

Accommodation Information

The hotel names specified in the program are priority accommodation facilities. Changes may be made to hotels depending on availability. At the latest 48 hours before the tour departure, upon request, accommodation information will be shared with our guests. In case of hotel changes due to congestion or compelling reasons, provided the standards remain the same, our guests will be informed by Go-Turkey authorities.

GEORGIA (BATUM – TBILISI) BORDER CROSSING INFORMATION

  1. Transfers to Georgia can only be made with the new type chip-enabled Republic of Turkey Identity Card or passport. Old-type identity cards are not valid.
  2. The chip on the identity card must be intact; it must not be broken, cracked, or excessively worn. The chip on the back of the identity cards must be checked.
  3. It is mandatory for all guests, including babies and children, to have new-type and photographed identity cards. Georgian authorities do not accept non-photographed identity cards.
  4. The tour company is not responsible for border crossing problems that may arise due to deformation, damage, or lack of a photo on the identity cards.
  5. For guests under 18 years of age to enter Georgia, both parents must be present.
  6. If one parent is absent, a notarized consent letter from the absent parent is required.
  7. If both parents are absent, notarized consent letters from both parents are mandatory.
  8. Payment of a stamp duty is mandatory for entry into Georgia. The stamp duty can be obtained at Sarp Border Gate and the fee is paid by the guests.
  9. According to Georgian laws, no medication is allowed to be brought into the country. Legal proceedings may be initiated against individuals found with medication.
  10. In day trips, only one box of medication, unwrapped and wrapped in paper, intended for use within the day, may be carried.
  11. When returning from Georgia to Turkey, there is a requirement to have stayed in Georgia for at least three days to bring alcohol, cigarettes, and similar products. Bringing these products is not permitted in day trips.
  12. Periodic congestion may occur at Sarp Border Gate. Therefore, early departure from the hotel in the morning or late arrival at the hotel in the evening may occur.
  13. Foreign guests who entered Turkey with a passport must have multiple-entry visas to Turkey to go to Georgia and return to Turkey again.
  14. Entry conditions to Georgia may vary depending on visa agreements between the country of origin of the passport or identity card and Georgia.
  15. North Cyprus citizens who have entered Turkey with a TC identity card can also enter Georgia with a TC identity card.
  16. North Cyprus citizens entering Turkey with a European Union passport must obtain a multiple-entry visa to return to Turkey.
  17. During border crossings, all guests are required to follow the guide's instructions.
  18. Border crossing procedures are entirely under the control of Georgian and Turkish official authorities, and the tour company cannot be held responsible for any delays that may occur.

FROM GİRESUN TO GÜMÜŞHANE: PLATEAUS, WATERFALLS AND HISTORY

We begin our Black Sea tour on the first day of our trip, getting acquainted with the greenery of the Black Sea, the cool air of the plateaus, and the deep-rooted Anatolian culture. We start our tour early in the morning under the guidance of our guide. Along with guests who wish, we have our breakfast prepared with local flavors (extra), then proceed to the plateau region via Giresun Dereli; Mavi Lake and Göksu Travertines, which offer a visual feast with their turquoise color, are among the most photogenic stops of the day. Afterwards, we visit Kümbet Plateau, which contains all tones of nature. While at Kümbet Plateau, we have the opportunity to taste the region's specialty pine resin milk pudding, while guests who wish can enjoy meals prepared at local butcher shops. Then, crossing the Eğribel Pass, we reach Tamzara Neighborhood, a historic neighborhood affiliated with Şebinkarahisar, located at an altitude of 2050 meters and preserving its historical texture. In this neighborhood, which was once a Greek settlement, we have the chance to drink from Akıl Suyu, believed by the local people to have healing properties. On our route, we view the Alucra district panoramically and arrive at the borders of Gümüşhane. Here, we visit Tomara Waterfall, located within a national park area (entrance fee extra). While watching this natural wonder from the glass terrace, we witness the enchanting power of water and nature. After this special day filled with nature, history, and local flavors, we settle into our hotel in Gümüşhane; we complete our day with dinner and overnight accommodation.

THE UNDERGROUND ART GALLERY OF NATURE

On the second day of our tour, after breakfast at our hotel, a unique route awaits us where nature and history intertwine, stretching into the humid and lush world of the Black Sea. Our first stop is the Gümüşhane region, named after its rich silver mines that have been in operation for centuries. Within the borders of Gümüşhane lies Karaca Cave, recognized not only as one of Turkey's but also as one of the most impressive caves in the world. This natural wonder, holding the title of "the world's second richest cave", resembles an underground art gallery with its stalactites, stalagmites, columns, curtain travertines, and dripstones formed over thousands of years of geological processes. We receive information from our guides about the cave's formation process and conduct a healthy and impressive exploration in this special area known for its high oxygen content and refreshing atmosphere. After visiting Karaca Cave, we enter the Black Sea Region by passing through the Zigana Tunnel, which has an altitude of 1795 meters and a length of 1702 meters. The Zigana Pass, which has hosted caravan routes, military crossings, and trade routes throughout history, is one of the most important natural gates connecting Eastern Anatolia with the Black Sea. Along the way, as the scenery transforms from rugged mountain silhouettes to lush green forests, we have the opportunity to witness the geographical changes firsthand. Located at the foothills of the Zigana Mountains, Hamsiköy is known not only for its natural beauty but also for the famous Hamsiköy Milk Pudding (Sütlacı) that has gained nationwide fame. Especially noteworthy: we descend into the village center and do not merely pass by on the road. Guests who wish can taste the famous pudding (extra) and take photos amidst the misty mountain views. Then, we turn our route towards Maçka and reach Altındere National Park, one of the Black Sea's most special protected areas. Proceeding along the Coşandere Valley by minibuses (Extra) and after a trail walk of approximately 350 meters, we arrive at Sümela Monastery, perched on the steep slopes of Mount Karadağ like an eagle's nest. Dating back to the 4th century, this magnificent structure is a very important center both for Christian history and for the cultural heritage of the Black Sea. Guided by our guide, we tour the accessible parts of the monastery, photographing its frescoes, rock architecture, and the unique valley views. After our visit to Sümela, we move to our restaurant to try one of the iconic flavors of Black Sea cuisine, Akçaabat Köfte. After having this meal (Extra), we drink our tea and take a short break from the day's pace. After lunch, following the Of – Çaykara route, we head towards Uzungöl, one of the most well-known natural destinations of the Black Sea. On the way, we take a shopping break at a local product store where you can find regional specialties. Upon arriving at Uzungöl, we are greeted by the dense forest surrounding the lake, wooden houses, suspension bridges, and the tranquility of the lake. During free time, you can walk around the lake, experience local flavors, and fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Black Sea. For guests who wish, an extra Lustra and Karaster Plateau Tour is organized. As we ascend by minibuses towards an altitude of 2400 meters, we will take photo stops at observation terraces. We make short walks on plateau roads adorned with flowers and have the chance to capture the most iconic view of Uzungöl from above. Guests not participating in the extra tour can spend their free time in Uzungöl. In the evening hours, we depart from Uzungöl and head towards our hotel in the Trabzon or Rize region. Dinner and accommodation are at our hotel.

Çeçeva Tea Gardens – Fırtına Stream – Çamlıhemşin – Çinçiva (Şenyuva Village) – Zilkalesi – Palovit Waterfall – Ayder Plateau

FROM FIRTINA VALLEY TO THE SEA OF CLOUDS IN THE HEART OF THE BLACK SEA

We begin the third day of our tour with breakfast at our hotel. Today, our route takes us to the valleys, highland plateaus (yaylas), streams, and postcard-perfect landscapes that have become symbols of Eastern Black Sea. Throughout the day, numerous visits to highland plateaus and valleys will be conducted using region-specific minibuses. Our first stop is Çeçeva Village (Haramtepe), affiliated with the Çayeli district of Rize. During this excursion (extra), we take a stroll among the endless tea gardens that have hosted film, TV series, and commercial shoots. The terraced tea fields offer one of the most iconic views of the Black Sea. After visiting the tea gardens, we proceed towards Ardeşen and arrive at our facility located on the banks of the Fırtına River, where we will enjoy activities, dining, and free time. For the optional lunch, you can choose from region-specialty menus featuring red-spotted trout, kidney beans with meatballs, köfte (meatballs), or chicken; you can crown your meal with Laz böreği, an indispensable part of Black Sea cuisine. After lunch, the fun begins for our adventure-loving guests. A zipline over the Fırtına River offers an unforgettable experience with approximately 10 meters in height and 350 meters in length. Following this, we enjoy pleasant moments in the turbulent waters of the Black Sea with a rafting activity lasting about 1.5 hours under the guidance of expert instructors (extra). Our day becomes even more colorful with entertaining activities like the giant swing (extra). After this action-packed segment, we set off towards Çat Valley, known as the "Fairytale Valley of the Black Sea," located within the borders of Çamlıhemşin. This special tour, organized as an extra, includes the stone-arched Çinçiva (Şenyuva) Bridge, the historically preserved Şenyuva Village, Zilkalesi (one of the region's "Three Beauties"), and Palovit Waterfall. Guests who do not wish to join may spend free time in Çamlıhemşin. (Note: Şenyuva Village, Zilkalesi, and Palovit Waterfall Tour is an extra). Continuing our journey, we visit one of the first highland plateaus that come to mind when thinking of the Black Sea: Ayder Yaylası. Located at an altitude of 1,350 meters, Ayder presents itself almost like a natural stage with its rich vegetation, thermal springs, and natural beauty. After visiting Gelintülü Waterfall and Horon Düzlüğü, we allow free time on the plateau. After spending free time at Ayder Yaylası, we head to our hotel located either at Ceymakçur Yaylası or Ayder Yaylası to rest for the evening, concluding this unforgettable day with dinner and overnight accommodation.

Borçka Karagöl – Sarp Border Gate – Batumi – Georgian Night

FROM THE BLACK SEA TO THE CAUCASUS: BATUM'S VIBRANT WORLD

We begin the fourth day of our tour with breakfast at our hotel. Today, a special program awaits us, blending nature for those who desire it, and city life and culture for others. In the morning hours, we depart for an excursion to Karagöl, located within the borders of Borçka district in Artvin (extra), known as a "hidden paradise" due to its natural landscape. Formed by a landslide-dammed lake, Karagöl offers visitors moments that seem to stop time with its dense surrounding forests, silence, and peaceful atmosphere. Guests who do not wish to join this extra tour can enjoy free time in Borçka center. After this nature-immersed segment, we head towards Sarp Border Gate via Hopa. We enter Batum, the tourism capital of Georgia. After completing identification procedures, we board our vehicle and proceed first to Batum city center to start our Batum city tour. Located on the Black Sea coast, we view Gonio Fortress panoramically and learn about its history dating back to the Roman era from our guide. Moving towards the city center, we reach Europe Square. Here, we listen to the story of the Medea Statue, which has become a symbol of Caucasian mythology, before moving to Piazza Square, which stands out with its architecture. This square, reminiscent of European cities, is one of Batum's most enjoyable spots with its cafes, music, and atmosphere. After our square tour, we visit the Saint Nicholas Church, which is actively open for worship. Our tour continues with Theater Square. Among the important structures we will see are the golden Poseidon Statue, the historic Theater Building, and the Cathedral of the Mother of God. Subsequently, we view the Alphabet Tower, dedicated to the Georgian Alphabet, which represents one of only 14 alphabets in the world, panoramically. We take photos in front of the Ali & Nino Statue, located on Batum's coastline and legendary for its love story. Then, we check into our hotel and prepare for the Georgian Night program with dinner (extra) for guests who wish to participate. With live music, local folk dances, and exquisite flavors of Georgian cuisine, we turn the Batum night into an unforgettable experience. Batum Makhuntseti – Rize Bezleri – Tea Factory – Sürmene Knife Workshop – Trabzon

CULTURE, HANDICRAFTS AND FAREWELL TO THE BLACK SEA

We begin the last day of our tour with breakfast at our hotel. Today, we will get to know Georgian culture closely and embark on a pleasant farewell journey filled with the traditional handicrafts and local flavors of Eastern Black Sea. In the morning hours, we head towards the Makhuntseti region. Our first stop is an authentic wine house (Adjarian Wine House), where we can closely experience Georgia's important wine tradition. Here, we listen to the history of Georgian winemaking, and guests who wish can taste and purchase world-famous Georgian wines (entrance fee 20 GEL). We visit the Makhuntseti Stone Bridge, built during the reign of Queen Tamar Mepe. Then, we take a short walk and photo break at the Makhuntseti Waterfall, hidden in the heart of lush nature. The coolness of the waterfall and the soothing sounds of nature create the most relaxing moments of the day. After these enjoyable visits, we head back towards the Sarp Border Gate. Before customs procedures, we are given free time for shopping at the Free Shop, after which we enter Turkey. Before saying goodbye to the greenery of the Black Sea, our journey continues towards Rize. First, we visit the Rize Cloth Weaving Workshop, where we can see the production of Rize Cloth, one of the symbols of Black Sea culture. We watch the live weaving process and have the opportunity to shop for this special fabric known for its sweat-absorbing and cooling properties. Then, we view Rize Castle panoramically and give a short free time for lunch break. Afterwards, we move to the tea production facility to discover the story of tea, an indispensable part of the Black Sea. Here, we experience tea picking, taste loose and flavored tea varieties, and complete our shopping. Later in the day, we take a short break at a local shopping store where we can find products unique to the Black Sea such as butter, honey, pestil–kome, kolot cheese, corn flour, etc. Depending on the timing and the guide's assessment, stops such as Trabzon Hagia Sophia Museum and Atatürk Mansion may be viewed panoramically or visited. In the evening, we begin our return journey. Completing this special tour filled with the unique nature, highland pastures, culture, and unforgettable memories of Eastern Black Sea, we bid you farewell, hoping to meet again at another event.
