Need to Know
  • Intermediary and Liability: Bluemaxx Travel acts as an intermediary between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the 1955 Hague Protocol dated 28.09. U flight schedules may change, and all times must be confirmed 48 hours prior to the departure date. Itineraries may vary depending on the city of arrival. You can obtain information about flight times from our offices or your sales representative. Bluemaxx Travel cannot be held responsible for schedule changes or delays made by the airlines.
  • Flight Procedures: Check-in and boarding procedures for participants joining air tours are their personal responsibility and must be completed before the flight at the airport airline counters or online. Last-minute delays and gate changes are announced via audio at airports and displayed on information boards. These updates must be monitored.
  • Tour Participation: Bluemaxx Travel is not responsible if passengers fail to board the flight because they were not present at the specified airport at the time announced by Bluemaxx Travel, did not complete check-in and boarding procedures on time, or simply did not board the plane. Any round-trip new flight tickets and local transfer costs required for those who miss the flight to join the tour are their own responsibility.
  • Program and Meals: Sightseeing listed in the program may be conducted on different days due to compelling reasons. Lunch and dinner included in the program may be served at restaurants designated by the agency if deemed necessary or due to changes in flight times. Panoramic city tours are 2-3 hour tours organized to introduce the cities. City tours and extra tours may be scheduled on different days, provided the content remains unchanged. Extra tour prices, content, and participant numbers may vary.
  • Cancellation of Tours: Panoramic tours and other program tours may not take place if local authorities prohibit access or due to closed roads. In cases where weather conditions make it impossible to conduct these tours, Bluemaxx Travel is not liable for their cancellation. If roads are closed or vehicle access is restricted, tours may be conducted using public transport or on foot.
  • Extra Tours: Tours listed as extras in the program may be cancelled if there is insufficient participation. Roadside extra tours will proceed even without the participation of all passengers. Guests who do not participate will be directed to rest areas by the guide. Passengers who do not join roadside extra tours are considered to have joined the tour by accepting to wait at the stopover point.
  • Personal Belongings: Personal items, bags, and suitcases of participants joining the tour are under their own responsibility. In case of lost, forgotten, or stolen items, any costs incurred for returning them to the country or the individual are borne by the owner of the item.
  • Hotel and Accommodation: Bluemaxx Travel reserves the right to change hotel names. Additional beds may be used in triple rooms, which may consist of pull-out beds or coach beds referred to as "coach bed." Therefore, potential crowding and bed types in rooms for third persons and/or children are accepted. Child prices listed in the price list apply only when the child stays with two adults. Continental breakfasts offered at hotels consist of butter, jam or honey, bread, tea or coffee, and fruit juice. Group breakfasts may be served in a separate hall.
  • Insurance and Health: Participants must carry their travel insurance during the trip. During tour registration, reports regarding health issues, pregnancy status, and medications used continuously must be carried with you.
  • Other Notes: Tours may be combined with tours from other agencies. In such cases, Bluemaxx Travel guests remain under Bluemaxx Travel's responsibility. During peak periods (trade fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc.), hotels may be located further than the specified kilometers. Information will be provided 15 days prior to the departure date in such situations. For children under 18 years old who do not travel with one or both parents, consent letters must be carried with them during the trip.
  • Passport Validity Date: All travelers traveling abroad must have passports that were first issued no more than 10 years ago. Additionally, passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the end of the trip. Guests planning to renew their passports are obligated to provide current passport information at the time of purchase; if they fail to do so, they must share updated passport details through the channel used for purchase at a later date.

Alsace

Istanbul – Basel – Freiburg

We will meet at the international departures terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport three hours before the flight to complete our ticketing and baggage procedures. Upon arriving in Basel, which can be described as the crossroads of three countries, we will begin our city tour. This beautiful city, where we will witness the synthesis of France, Germany, and Switzerland, is undoubtedly adorned by the Rhine River, which gives it its most beautiful feature. Basel, where trade was intense throughout its history, gradually became a center of culture and industry. Following the collapse of the Roman Empire, Germanic tribes began establishing dominance in Basel and the surrounding regions, and from the 5th century onward, they had fully influenced the area around the Rhine River. Today, in addition to being Switzerland’s third-largest city, it is also home to many museums and exhibitions. During our walking tour of the city, we will see the Town Hall, with its striking red color, and Basel Minster, which was built as a Catholic church in 1091 and rebuilt after the great earthquake of 1356. Today serving as a Protestant church, it is included on Switzerland’s National Heritage list. Afterwards, we will visit Marktplatz, the old city square and marketplace. This square, which also hosts many festivals, is one of the liveliest places in the city. After getting to know Basel, we will take a short break to rest and have lunch. We will continue our tour by setting off for Freiburg. A German city, Freiburg is located next to the Black Forest. Undoubtedly, the first thing that comes to mind when Freiburg is mentioned is that the city center is lined with miniature waterways called “Bachle.” These channels, built in the 13th century, were designed to prevent fires in the city. Today, they can be considered the historical remnants that attract the most attention from Freiburg’s visitors and children. The Gothic Freiburg Minster Cathedral rising in the middle of the city is another one of its noteworthy structures. After our tour of Freiburg, we will be transferred to our hotel in the Alsace Region. 

Alsace

Haut Koenigsbourg Castle – Obernai – Strasbourg

After having breakfast at the hotel, we depart from our hotel in the morning for our full-day excursion, which will be packed with activities. We will visit Haut Koenigsbourg Castle, which can be described as the most magnificent structure in the Alsace region and the region’s biggest tourist attraction. The construction of the castle, one of the region’s cultural heritages and a symbol of the area, dates back to the 12th century. Initially begun by the Hohenstaufen Dynasty, the castle changed hands several times over the years between various families and lords due to its strategic location. It still serves today as a museum that showcases medieval life and culture and fascinates visitors with its architectural structure. After our visit to the castle, we will visit the nearby village of Obernai. Located very close to Strasbourg and surrounded by vineyards, Obernai lies along the Alsace Wine Route.  It is a town where famous Alsace wines such as Riesling and Gewürztraminer are produced. After Obernai, we will set off toward Strasbourg. Throughout its history, the city, which could not be exclusively claimed by Germany or France and changed hands many times, was returned to France once again following World War I through the Treaty of Versailles. Known as a place representing peace in Europe, Strasbourg is home to many international institutions, such as the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights. In addition to its historical and cultural richness, Strasbourg is surrounded by many canals and waterways. Founded on the Ill River, a tributary of the Rhine, the city is also home to Notre Dame Cathedral, once considered one of the largest structures in the world. Le Petite France (Little France), a picturesque medieval quarter that forms the city’s historic center and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is among the most memorable places in Strasbourg. Following our excursion, we will be transferred to our hotel in the Alsace region, where we will stay. Free time to relax.


Alsace

Kaysersberg - Riquewihr - Eguisheim - Colmar

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave our hotel in the early morning and set off toward the north of the region, heading to Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg Castle, built in the 13th century, and the Ste Croix Church, notable for its picturesque architecture, are among the town’s prominent historical structures. The town, whose name means “Emperor’s Mountain,” is also the birthplace of Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Albert Schweitzer. Following our visit to Kaysersberg, we will head to Riquewihr, considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Alsace region. With its colorful half-timbered houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and unique atmosphere surrounded by vineyards, Riquewihr is one of the most popular stops on the Alsace Wine Route. After exploring this charming town, whose architecture has been largely preserved from the Middle Ages to the present day, giving visitors the feeling of traveling back in time, we will continue to Eguisheim. A member of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” association since 2003, Eguisheim was voted France’s favorite village in 2013 and is also one of the most visited villages on the Alsace Wine Route. Famous for its labyrinthine streets, distinctive wooden houses, and wines, Eguisheim gives visitors the feeling of being in a medieval film. After Eguisheim, we will continue our tour by visiting Colmar, the jewel of the Alsace region. As you explore Colmar, which most vividly reflects the region’s historic character, you will find yourself in an atmosphere where time seems to have stopped. Le Petit Venice (Little Venice), with its colorful half-timbered houses, flower-adorned balconies, and network of canals, is one of Colmar’s most enchanting areas. After free time in Colmar, we will be transferred to our hotel in the Alsace region. Free time to rest.

Alsace

Basel - Istanbul

After having breakfast at the hotel, on the last day of our Alsace trip, we will complete our check-out procedures and leave the hotel. Free time until the meeting time specified by our guide.  Afterwards, we will set off for Basel Airport. Once we have completed our ticketing and baggage procedures, we will depart for Istanbul on a scheduled Pegasus Airlines flight.
